During the hundreds of hours I have spent on my mat I have found contentment, curiosity and courage. I have also discovered a desire to learn as much as I can about the yoga lifestyle. When I started out, I didn’t realize how yoga would help my anxiety and depression and help me discover my Atma. The Atma is the inner self or soul. I don’t just practice yoga asanas, I feel the yoga in my body, my soul and my mind. Yoga is a moving meditation and with the movement comes breath, life is breath and with the breath comes a calm mind. And while you’re doing all this, you strengthen your body in an incredibly efficient way.

I am a yoga teacher who views movement as a form of medicine, supporting both physical and emotional well-being. My classes focus on breath-led movement, functional strength, and mindful awareness. I encourage listening to and approaching the body with compassion, aiming to create a space where you can move with purpose, let go of expectations, and feel more at home in your body, just as you are

I began practising yoga ten years ago, gaining strength and mobility. For these ten years, yoga has supported all of my other activities, including gardening, hiking, skiing, and weight lifting. I have practised many styles of yoga and have learned something from each of them. Now, I'd like to share my knowledge and passion for yoga. By teaching others yoga, I hope they can develop a practice to build their life activities upon. My intention is to help people feel welcome, energized and free to be themselves in my classes. Join me on your mat and experience the joy of yoga.

Zeph is a queer Yoga Instructor based here in amiskwacîwâskahikan (Edmonton). Zeph found yoga in 2007 as a way to help with midterm stress in university and fell in love with it, and hasn’t stopped loving it since. Yoga continued to help with moving through grief after a tremendous amount of death he experienced in his life. Zeph graduated in 2018 with a 200 Hour YTT and a 25 Hour Restorative Yoga training from Empowered Yoga. He chose this local training because it had a strong focus on trauma informed yoga, taught about cultural appropriation in yoga, and about the history of abuse in this industry and ways in which teachers can work to change that. He also learned about ways to empower students and the importance of “un-guruing” the yoga teacher. Zeph has over 1000 hours of teaching experience, and is comfortable teaching all experience levels and types of yoga including Gentle Hatha, Hatha, Hatha Flow, Yin and Restorative.
Zeph also received his Death Doula training in 2019, and organized and ran a Death Meditation Workshop - using the tools of meditation and yoga to explore our relationships with death and dying.

My yoga practice has been developing over the last 7 years, starting with YouTube and then transitioning to different studios around Edmonton. Eventually, yoga began to grow off of my mat and permeate different parts of my life.
It is my intention to help you feel connected with your body through your physical practice. Creating this connection on your mat, will hopefully allow you to bring yoga off of your mat as well.
My experience as a school teacher has ignited my passion for teaching, and that has translated into my love for yoga. I hope to inspire and share this practice with you.

My name is Amanda (she/her/hers) and I am a queer social worker, yoga teacher, advocate and community builder living in Treaty 6 territory as a settler.
I believe that yoga is as much about connection to others as to ourselves and community service is deeply important in my personal and professional work.
I have over a thousand hours of training specific to yoga but extensive experience working with first responders with PTSD, severe injuries (burns, amputations), and marginalized folks from a variety of communities.
My yoga trainings include a 200 hour focused on inclusive practices, a 300 hour of trauma informed advanced practice, and 120 hour trauma informed yin. I am also certified to teach iRest yoga nidra and yoga for the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) community.

I have a light hearted approach to yoga but also encourage people to move beyond their comfort zones and experience all that they are capable of. My goal is to emit body neutrality and inclusivity within all of my classes - keeping the focus on a strong mind body breath connection. I always offer modifications and alternative postures to ensure the class is empowering and accessible to all levels/bodies. My focus & practice now, after 7 years teaching and 550+ hours of training, has evolved into helping myself and others align with a sense of purpose, deepen our connection to each other as a community, and to ourselves as an integral part of nature. To keep returning to this practice and trust that we can show up authentically a little more every time.
